previously Senior Architect at OMA Ceren Bingol is an architect and educator, based in New York City where she is the founder of architecture and design practice Ceren Bingol Studio. Ceren was most recently the Architect-in-Residence and Director of the Architecture Department at Cranbrook Academy of Art. Previously a senior architect and project manager at Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA), Ceren led a mix of cultural, residential, commercial and master planning projects which include the Marina Abramovic Performance Center and the competition winning design for the Albright Knox Gallery extension. She was most notably the project architect and manager of Quebec National Museum of Beaux-Arts in Quebec City which opened in June 2016. Prior to OMA, Ceren worked at Grimshaw Architects on high profile projects such as the completed Queens Museum of Art, Fulton Street Transit Center, Monterrey Steel Museum and Ecorium Biomes in Seoul, Korea, as well as on the concept and design phases of extra large projects such as Disney Tomorrowland in Shanghai, and La Guardia, Newark and New Doha International Airports, all of which exhibit exquisite attention to detail, building systems and sustainable design. As the founding principle of Ceren Bingol Studio, Ceren designed and built various artists’ residences and currently working on an artist village and another artist studio building. She received her Bachelor of Art from Yale College in 2001 and Master of Architecture from Yale School of Architecture in 2005, where she was the co-editor of Perspecta 38- Architecture After All and the recipient of multiple awards including the Moulton Andrus Award for excellence in art and architecture, Kenneth A. Householder Prize, Howard Topol III Travel Grant, and Sudler Prize. In 2006, Ceren received the 1st Honorary Mention in the inaugural US Green Building Council, Emerging Green Builders Design Competition.
